All in all it was a great day! We got to experience a timeline of Mt Vesuvius, see ancient artifacts and walk around casts of the encapsulated people of Pompeii. The visuals and displays were excellent and our experiences were top notch. Thank you all to my favorite people who supported the kids going on this trip. It was a much needed outing for many reasons!

Tomorrow the Advanced Art students are headed out on an adventure to see the Pompeii exhibit at Carnegie Science center in Pittsburgh.

While this was not our original plan for the trip, I think we are getting to see a once in a lifetime exhibit!

Pre pandemic I submitted a proposal to build stools for the art room. Yes, I said build. Why? Because I wanted these specific stools and they had been discontinued years ago.

The old ones are falling apart and have been for some time and regardless of our patchwork it was just time for something new.

We cut, we drilled, and we assembled. It was a lot of work but completely worth the sore knees. Out of a projected 24 we got 23 and only one is slightly off kilter. We completed the assembling at the end of March and we are now ready for sanding and staining. Thank you to my dedicated students for helping to make this little art room dream of mine come true!
