It's Picture Day!

Today we celebrated Candlemas and our kids enjoyed delicious traditional mexican tamales 🫔.

Candlemas, also known as the Feast of the Presentation of Jesus Christ, the Feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary, or the Feast of the Holy Encounter, is a Christian holiday commemorating the presentation of Jesus at the Temple. It is based upon the account of the presentation of Jesus in Luke 2:22–40.

Hoy celebramos el Dia de la Candelaria y nuestros niños disfrutaron unos deliciosos tamales 🫔 tradicionales mexicanos.

La Candelaria es una fiesta popular celebrada por los católicos, que celebra la Presentación de Jesús en el Templo, la Purificación de la Virgen después del parto y la Virgen de la Candelaria, advocación mariana aparecida en Tenerife (Islas Canarias) archipiélago en el noroeste de África, en el siglo xv. Tiene lugar el 2 de febrero, Día de la Candelaria, y en algunos lugares (Tenerife, Pedrera, Palencia, Valls…) se extiende durante varios días, generalmente por ser la patrona del lugar. Generalmente se pasa al primer fin de semana de febrero.
