I’m excited to share that StackFord is officially hitting the road in 2027 with vendor booths at two major education technology conferences:

FETC 2027
January 26–29, 2027
Orlando, Florida

TCEA 2027 Convention & Exposition
January 31–February 3, 2027
San Antonio, Texas

We’ll be bringing our curriculum, IT certification resources, books, and plenty of geekiness along for the ride.

This is another pretty exciting milestone for StackFord. What started with creating resources to help students and teachers succeed in IT is turning into something much bigger—and apparently now requires vendor booths, conference freight, and an overloaded vehicle. 😂

If you’re attending either conference, come find us. We’ll have wares.

NEW ACHIEVEMENT: CONFERENCE STAGE UNLOCKED!

I received some fantastic news this morning. My session, “Building Computer Certification Programs That Get Results,” has been accepted for the 2027 TCEA Convention & Exposition in San Antonio!

I’ll be presenting on February 1 at 8:00 a.m. Apparently, the real boss battle will be convincing a conference audience to discuss certification programs that early in the morning.

I’m incredibly excited for the opportunity to share what I’ve learned from more than 25 years in technology education, including the strategies that helped my students achieve a 95% certification pass rate.

The new book (Technology Applications EC-12 242 certification) keeps chugging along (choo choo).

I just completed another stable draft of a chapter.

I am defining a stable draft as basically needing one final pass before I move it into InDesign and start getting it ready for publishing.

Not bad considering I started writing this book just 26 days ago!!!! That works out to around 10 completed pages per weekday, not counting weekends.

Right now, I have three chapters in the stable-draft category:
* 176 pages
* 39,779 words

STEM Go Pro Day 2026 was a great experience! I had the opportunity to speak with students about getting started in the IT field, their education and training options, industry certifications, and the importance of building a professional network. I always enjoy helping students see that there is more than one path into a successful technology career.

I also have to admit that it was pretty amazing to look up and see StackFord on the marquee inside Shell Energy Stadium. That was definitely a proud moment and a great reminder of how far we have come. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success!

Houston area students, this is for you.

What if the career you are meant for is one you have never heard of?

On Thursday, July 30, STEM Go Pro Day will take over Shell Energy Stadium for a full day of career exploration, hands-on technology, mentoring, speakers, and opportunities for students to meet the people doing the work.

I’ll be there representing StackFord, and I’ll be speaking for 30 minutes at the top of every hour about:
* Careers in information technology
* Education and training options
* The value of industry certifications
* Practical ways to begin preparing for an IT career

Students will also have access to:
* Hands-on experiences with AI, robotics, drones, media, engineering, and emerging technology
* Cash App Speed Mentoring with professionals from Block
* A Houston Dynamo experience focused on careers in sports, business, and technology
* Speaker Spotlights presented by H-E-B
* Live career panels
* Colleges, employers, workforce organizations, and community partners from across Houston

This is a chance for students to discover careers they may not know exist, ask questions, meet professionals, and begin thinking seriously about what comes after high school.

One of the great things about running an education and training consulting business is that no two weeks ever look the same.

Tonight I'm staying near the Houston Galleria, getting ready for an early morning AI training session with a global client.

There's something really rewarding about helping organizations cut through the AI hype and focus on tools that genuinely make people more productive.

And yes... I fully admit it. I'm a geek. 🤓
