Congrats to Texas Southern Head Football Coach Cris Dishman on being named the 2024 HBCU Legends Newcomer of the Year! 🏆🎉

This inaugural award, voted on by media members and fans, celebrates those making a huge impact on HBCU sports. 🔥

Under Dishman’s leadership, TSU achieved their most wins since 2022, ended the season with back-to-back victories for the first time since 1979, AND brought home the Durley-Nicks Trophy after defeating Prairie View A&M in the Labor Day Classic for the first time since 2014! 🐅

Let’s hear it for Coach Dishman!

Texas Southern University proudly celebrates our very own Michael Strahan on his induction into the College Football Hall of Fame! 🏈🎉

From dominating the field as TSU's all-time sacks leader (1989-1992) to being inducted into the TSU Hall of Fame in 2024, Michael’s legacy at Texas Southern shines bright.

With an illustrious NFL career, a Super Bowl victory, and a Pro Football Hall of Fame induction in 2014, Michael continues to make us as a broadcasting icon and football legend. 🐾

Congratulations, Michael, on this well-deserved honor!

Honoring the life and legacy of Aquarius J. Cross, a cherished alumna of Texas Southern University whose influence reached well beyond the classroom. As a majorette with the Ocean of Soul, a member of TSU Sensational, and a part of the TSU Modern Dance Company, Aquarius exemplified the excellence and pride that define TSU. Her unwavering commitment to education, leadership, service, and faith made her a true inspiration to all who knew her.

Aquarius' legacy of love, kindness, and commitment to uplifting others will forever be a part of the TSU community. Our thoughts are with her family, friends, and all those who were touched by her during this time of loss.

Texas Southern University kicks off 2025 by celebrating a generous gift that closed out 2024. Janet and Jeff Share have donated a home to the University. This gift is in addition to a first-of-its-kind $54,000 endowment the family established to support KTSU. Proceeds from the donation will be available for unrestricted use by the University.
