West Houston (Westheimer) Tamil School affiliated with Greater Houston Tamil School (HTS) was started in Dec 2013 with 14 students and 2 teachers with the objective of teaching Tamil, an ancient and literature-rich South Asian classical language. Since then, the school has grown to 114 children attending various levels from Mazhalai to level 8. The School currently has 17 dedicated teachers and va

About West Houston(Westheimer) Tamil School Library:
West Houston(Westheimer) Tamil School has started the library with the objective of encouraging the students and parents to read more tamil books and enrich themselves with tamil literature and culture. This is an important milestone in the school operation. It was started with around 70 books and is continuously growing to add more books. The parents are already registering with enthusiasm and borrowing the books. About Greater Houston Tamil School (HTS):
HTS is a member of American Tamil Academy (ATA) and a non profitable organization. Accordingly, it is following ATA syllabus and its books for Mazhalai to Level 3. For higher levels, however, HTS uses its own books. There are six branches in the Houston area They are Katy, West Katy, Pearland, Woodlands, Sugarland, and West Houston (Westheimer). A total of over 500 students are currently (Academic year 2021-22) enrolled in these six schools. Tamil is taught in 13 levels (grades) starting from Munmazhalai to Level 8.
