Meta Settlement and Summer Learning!
"The proposed settlement between Meta and state attorneys general and, in particular, its recognition that summer programs can be an important part of addressing the harms young people experience from social media.
The agreement expressly identifies after school or summer programs, such as sports, literacy, dance, and other activities” among the ways states may use settlement funds to support young people. That inclusion matters. Summer programs give children and youth opportunities to step away from screens and spend time learning, creating, being active, building relationships with peers and caring adults, and experiencing the connection and belonging that are essential to healthy development" (National Summer Learning Association).

The Texas Juvenile Crime Prevention Center (TJCPC) at Prairie View A&M University is a rapidly growing Center mandated by the Texas Legislature to provide research leading to policy, training and programming to reduce juvenile delinquency. TJCPC is seeking a highly motivated, experienced and enthusiastic Senior Researcher to lead the Division of Research. This person will develop, design, and manage research projects while acquiring research funding, and leading a multi-disciplinary team that successfully executes a variety of research projects.
