Dr. Penn recently visited the community of Uvalde, Texas, where local residents continue to honor and remember the lives impacted by the tragic events at Robb Elementary School on May 24, 2022.

During the visit, meaningful conversations centered around healing, support, and creating positive opportunities for youth and families. The Texas Juvenile Crime Prevention Center is preparing to host a Youth Summit this September, bringing together resources, community leaders, and support systems dedicated to empowering the next generation and strengthening the Uvalde community.

This week, Dr. Penn visited Uvalde, Texas, where plans are underway for the Youth Summit hosted by the Texas Juvenile Crime Prevention Center. Uvalde is a community still carrying the pain of losing 21 lives, many of them children, at Robb Elementary School in May 2022. We remember them and the community’s resilience as we work to support young people across Texas.
