During Spring Break we replanted the gardens on the playground as a surprise for the students. We wanted the students to be able to observe the gardens, chart growth, build a rain gauge and understand farming. COVID-19 changed those plans but are gardens are starting to produce. Check out our first mini crop. As the gardens continue to flourish we will offer the vegetables to our families. #Withlionpride
Taking a moment to say thank you to our wonderful parents for assisting their little lions in making the change to Virtual learning!
Special thanks to our amazing teachers who have made the switch to virtual learning and keeping the kiddos engaged everyday!
Our students are doing an extraordinary job!
MeyerPark Elementary Community
MeyerPark Elementary has made the difficult decision to extend the suspension of normal district operations through Friday, April 10th in an effort to support the nation’s need to flatten the curve of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Houston area continues to see an increasing number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 and health officials report that this number is expected to continue to increase as more testing is made available. In light of these factors, and additional guidance from local, state and national authorities, we feel that this is the most appropriate decision for our students, staff, families and our community as a whole.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has outlined the need for all communities to implement a social distancing protocol. The President has publicly shared that the community should not gather in groups larger than 10 people. The District will remain flexible as leaders plan for the long-term delivery of instruction and continue to navigate the many details of this unprecedented situation. We ask for your patience and understanding as our team continues to navigate the many details of this unprecedented situation. MPE teachers will be solidifying plans as they prepare for long-term delivery of digital and remote instruction.
Please continue to monitor your email and visit the District website and social media channels for more information on plans to deliver instruction and information on our child nutrition program.
The health of MeyerPark students, staff and community is the District’s top priority and District leaders are working to ensure the community has the most current information available.
