💙 We hear a lot about April 2nd…
But autism isn’t just one day.

It’s lived every single day—
in every glance, every effort, and every small victory that might go unnoticed by others.

Autism isn’t a date on the calendar…
It’s a unique way of feeling, thinking, and experiencing the world. 🧩

Today, more than awareness, we need understanding, respect, and REAL inclusion.

Because it’s not about just one day…
It’s about a lifetime. 💙

When my daughter was diagnosed with autism at age seven, I was suddenly immersed in a whirlwind of challenges. Her extreme picky eating, hand-flapping, and rigid routines made everyday life feel overwhelming.

I did everything I could to get her to eat—sometimes relying on fresh fruit, other times hoping she would accept mini arepas or whatever homemade meals I could prepare. As long as she ate something, I felt a sense of relief.

When she began drinking juices, I even convinced myself it was the same as eating an apple—anything to reassure myself she was getting some form of nutrition.

But as her symptoms persisted—grayish stools, increasing rigidity, and constant sensory overload—I realized that simply getting by was no longer enough.

Through countless hours of self-education and guidance from her therapist, I discovered something that changed everything: the powerful connection between gut health and behavior.

As we worked on repairing her gut, I saw meaningful changes—calmer behaviors, improved digestion, and a growing willingness to try new foods. For the first time, we experienced real progress, and I felt empowered to truly help her thrive.

This journey inspired me to create a business. THINKER GARDEN LEARNING CENTER was born for her—and for all the local children with special needs.

Snijders Blok-Fisher syndrome, not “Blok-Fisher syndrome.” This is an actual rare genetic neurodevelopmental condition — distinct from Miller Fisher syndrome (a neurological condition related to Guillain-Barré syndrome). I’ll explain both so you can tell the difference.

🧬 Snijders Blok-Fisher Syndrome
Snijders Blok-Fisher syndrome (SNIBFIS) is a very rare genetic disorder that affects brain development and neurologic function.

🧠 What It Is
A neurodevelopmental disorder caused by mutations in the POU3F3 gene located on chromosome 2.

Most cases are de novo (not inherited from a parent), though a few show autosomal dominant inheritance.

🚼 Main Features
People with this syndrome typically have:

Global developmental delay (delay in motor skills and cognition)

Impaired speech and language acquisition (often delayed or limited speech)

Hypotonia (low muscle tone)

Intellectual disability, ranging from mild to severe

Autistic features or social communication challenges

Dysmorphic features, such as abnormal ears (cupped/prominent), and possible ocular anomalies

🧠 Additional Findings
Some individuals may also have:

Seizures

Brain structure anomalies (e.g., corpus callosum abnormalities)

Drooling or sleep disturbances

🧬 Genetics & Inheritance
Variants in POU3F3 are responsible.

Generally autosomal dominant, often arising spontaneously (de novo).

Summary: This is a genetic condition with lifelong developmental effects, ranging in severity, and usually diagnosed by genetic testing.

💗🌈:
