At 60 Watts of Clarity, our philosophy centers on providing accessible AI literacy, starting with a fundamental understanding of what AI is and its psychosocial impacts within the community. We believe every individual deserves this foundational knowledge.
Our approach to AI learning goes beyond the narratives often presented by the technology industry. We bridge that gap by integrating behavioral sciences, emphasizing that the output of any AI model profoundly influences our perception and interaction with this technology. Understanding these psychosocial dynamics is paramount for responsible and effective AI adoption, ensuring we equip professionals to not just use AI, but to critically analyze, implement, and understand its broader societal implications.

Had a powerful moment in my AI workshop last week. I asked a room full of social workers: "Which AI model are you using?"
The silence was deafening.
Then one participant's face literally dropped. She suddenly realized AI bias might be affecting her work with clients. 😔
It hit me: We'd never work with a human client without understanding their background, right? So why are we using AI blindfolded?
I just published an article treating AI as our newest "client" who needs a proper assessment. Because here's the thing - we social workers are ALREADY equipped for this. We understand systems. We read between the lines. We look for what's NOT being said.
We just need to apply those same skills to our digital tools.
