This February, we celebrate Black History Month through a continued exposure of representative literature, art and cultural exploration. Our learners will discover inspiring figures, create beautiful art, and connect with the rich heritage of those who forged the path for past, present and future generations.

Ending the week grateful. 🥰 Our little classroom community has grown so close. The friendships, the way they help each other, how they encourage each other to do their best. And their learning! I can see how much they’re growing every single day. The focus, kindness, and excitement when they walk in each morning makes coming to school a joy for all of us, and that’s exactly how it should be. Happy Friday from our classroom! We are so lucky to have Itzia as a part of our Bayou Blossoms family! Her dedication to Montessori philosophy and bilingual education creates a nurturing space where our littlest learners can flourish. When she’s not guiding curious minds in the classroom, you’ll find her tending to her garden or creating beautiful embroidery, giving the same care and attention she brings every child at our school.

As a certified Montessori educator who grew up in Houston’s SouthEast, I’ve seen first hand how transformative quality education can be. My dream has always been to bring child-led education to the community that shaped me. At Bayou Blossoms, every child will be seen, heard and given the tools they need to blossom.
