"Students in the Therapeutics and Pharmacology program learn the fundamental mechanisms of disease, basic therapeutic principles and mechanisms, the art and science of discovery, development and translation of therapeutics, often at the interface of the physical and biological sciences and almost always in the realm of precision medicine. The program is especially geared towards students with an interest in 'bench-to-bedside' translation and welcomes students whose future career goals might include academia, industry, government, regulatory agencies, scientific writing, and science policy initiatives."

Biochemistry and Cell Biology program renamed Molecular and Translational Biology 01/11/2024

Graduate School’s Program in Biochemistry and Cell Biology has changed its name to Molecular and Translational Biology. The change came into effect on January 1, following a rigorous process that included a program wide consultation and two elections to select the new name. This new name is part of a series of measures aimed at modernizing the program, which include revisions to the program curriculum, etc.

Ulises Gonzalez earned the prestigious NIH Blueprint F99/K00 DSPAN award earlier this year. Gonzalez conducts his research in the lab of Vasanthi Jayaraman, PhD, using electrophysiology and fluorescence techniques to investigate the structure-function of glutamate receptors when in the presence of endogenous protein interactions.
