We are kicking off the school year with our FIRST Science Discovery Night of the year, and we are planning for this to be our BIGGEST and BEST Science Night yet!

Join us for Science Discovery Night: Waves & Water on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 5:15–6:15 PM! Come explore hands-on science, learn about water, weather, conservation, and our environment, and meet some incredible scientists and community organizations.

We’ll be joined by an amazing group of community partners, including:

• Lone Star Groundwater Conservation District — featuring their Mobile Lab and giant aquifer model
• Texas Stream Team
• Houston-Galveston Area Council
• Big Rivers Waterpark & Adventures
• Texas Farm Bureau
• Take Care of Texas — with freebies for families
• Galveston Bay Foundation
• NOAA Meteorologists
• Harris-Galveston Subsidence District H2O Lab Water Conservation Program

And come hungry! We’ll also have Kona Ice, Taco Boss, and KK’s Island Style Food on campus. Families are welcome to purchase dinner or a treat and sit together to eat in the cafeteria while enjoying the evening.

There will be so much to see and do, so bring the whole family and come discover something new with us!

Join us for our STAAR Reading Family Night for an evening of nachos, learning, laughter, and prizes!

📍 Crippen Elementary
Parents will get a chance to see what STAAR Reading is really like by trying out some STAAR-style questions—and here’s the fun part… your student gets to be the teacher and grade YOUR work! 😄
Families will also:
📚 Learn about STAAR Reading expectations
🎯 Review student progress and set goals together
💡 Learn ways to support reading at home
🧀 Enjoy nachos
🎁 Have chances to win great prizes, including gift cards and family gift baskets!

Submit one special photo of your child with their grandparent(s) or grandparent figure, and we'll include it in our RCE Grandparents Day slideshow! Due September 11.

To help keep our morning car rider line safe, organized, and moving smoothly, please follow the route shown on the map.
Morning car riders should NOT turn left directly into the front entrance from Cumberland Blvd. Instead, please continue down Cumberland Blvd. and use Turn 1 or Turn 2, depending on where the car rider line ends. Then, join the line and follow it back toward the front entrance.

Following this traffic pattern is important because it:
-Keeps vehicles from blocking traffic coming from FM 1314
-Prevents cars from cutting into the established car rider line
-Keeps the line consistent and moving in one direction
-Helps make morning arrival safer and smoother for everyone

🚌 Please remember: The entrance shown on the right side of the map is for BUS TRAFFIC ONLY during morning arrival.
