Dear TMSL Family,
It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of The Honorable Babatunde Akowe, a proud member of the Thurgood Marshall School of Law Class of 2011.
Judge Akowe was the best friend and devoted partner to his wife, Lauren Brown (TMSL Alumna), and a loving father to their two beautiful daughters, Adia and Amara. His kindness, dedication to justice, and unwavering love for his family touched the lives of all who knew him.
Details regarding his Celebration of Life are provided below for those who wish to attend and honor his memory.
We ask that the entire TMSL Family keep Lauren, Adia, Amara, and the entire Akowe family and circle of friends in your thoughts and prayers during this profoundly difficult time. May we surround them with support, love, and strength in the days ahead.
With heartfelt sympathy,
Thurgood Marshall School of Law Family
