Check this out!! The Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship is targeted towards sophomores and juniors in humanities and social sciences. Attend the info session to learn more!

Rice undergraduates Victoria Zabarte and Kate Landry presented alongside historians and experts on the intra-American slave trade at the “Bound Away” conference held at the Moody Center for the Arts Dec. 3 and 4.

Their data will be uploaded to the Intra-American Slave Trade Database on SlaveVoyages.org, the world’s largest repository for data on slaving voyages. The website recently moved from Emory University to Rice, and the “Bound Away” conference served to celebrate this changeover as well as spotlight new research on slave voyages from the website’s many national and international contributors.

Research Ambassadors are current Rice students who have engaged in research, design, and creative work during their undergraduate careers, and are excited to help other students get involved!

The Summer Undergraduate Fellowship is open to eligible undergraduates who are conducting research with Rice faculty. Fellows will receive $3,000 to support unpaid research.
