During yesterday’s First Day of School assembly, we celebrated an incredible educator: Ms. Maria Aguilera was named a recipient of the Kinder Excellence in Teaching Award!

Now in her 4th school year at Cristo Rey Jesuit, Ms. Aguilera brings faith, compassion, and intellect to the classroom every day while challenging students to reach their highest potential.

Since 2001, the Kinder Foundation® has presented these awards to honor exceptional educators making a difference for Houston-area students. This year, only 12 teachers were selected across Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Galveston – Houston, KIPP Texas Public Schools – Houston, Teach For America Houston, and YES Prep Public Schools.

A special thank you to the Kinder Foundation for uplifting educators and investing in our schools!

Yesterday, our faculty and staff gathered for our annual retreat, and we were deeply blessed to welcome Fr. Greg Boyle, SJ, founder of Homeboy Industries.

His words on radical kinship, compassion, and unconditional love left us inspired and ready to pour into our students this year.

Yesterday, we gathered to celebrate the incredible Class of 2026 at our annual Alumni Send-Off! Before heading off in different directions, our grads spent the afternoon catching up, laughing, and sharing one final moment together alongside the faculty and staff who’ve cheered them on every step of the way.

Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our donors, our newest grads are fully packed and ready for college—from school supplies to dorm room sheets and towels.

This summer, Fatima '27 participated in a three-week Fashion Marketing & Business program with CIEE in Milan, Italy. Immersed in Italian culture, she lived with a host family, navigated public transit daily, and gained hands-on business experience.

A central highlight of her journey was attending Mass in Italian, which deepened her understanding of global faith and unity - core principles of our Jesuit values.

Fatima returns to CRJ with a refined career passion, along with strengthened collaboration, communication, and professional skills ready to be applied in her classes and Corporate Work Study placement!
