As this week starts the academic school year for many of my colleague friends and education partners, we want to wish them all a successful start as you all have the power to influence and reach our future generation to be innovators, critical thinkers and embracers of new tools and technologies in the classroom . Career and Technical education is at the forefront of bridging workplace skills to what they are learning in the classrooms, occupations and declared majors come alive and real for them . The phrase "when I grow up I want to be……." is now turning into a reality .
Our CEO, Christine Aboud, witnessed this last week at Lamar ISD CTE ribbon cutting ceremony.
Dr. Kayse Lazar, Executive director of CTE and CCMR, was instrumental in seeing this vision to reality. She said ”this new CTE center is not just about opening a building but opening doors to opportunities, for brighter futures and long life learners.”
Special thanks to CTE instructor Christopher Batiste, Army Logistician and CTE teacher, for showing me their new space where they will be teaching CLA/CLT, and hopefully soon SAP 😊 .
Also thanks too, Kristin Gann, CTE Coordinator, for the invitation and shared mission to see more students graduate with CTE credentials, skills and jobs.
