Shakespeare Outreach - Romeo & Juliet

Skyler Sinclair (Juliet) graduated from the University of Houston with a BFA in theatre. In 2017, Sinclair was named as one of Houston Press' "Top 7 Young Actors to Watch" and was a recent recipient of the Houston Broadway World Award for Best Supporting Actress (play). Recent credits include "Christmas at Pemberley" (Main Street Theatre), "Harvey" (AD Players), "Doubt" (Unity Theatre), "Dry Land" (Mildred's Umbrella Theatre), "Titus Andronicus" (Clear Creek Theatre), "The Divine Sister" (Celebration Theatre), "The University of Tamarie" (Catastrophic Theatre), "A Midsummer Nights Dream" (4th Wall Theatre), and "Peace in Our Time" (Main Street Theatre). Upcoming productions, "Shakespeare in Vegas" at 4th Wall Theatre April 2018.

MEET THE CAST!

Zachary Drew Givens (Romeo) is a 4th year BFA Acting major at the University of Houston’s School of Theatre & Dance and will be graduating this Spring! His previous stage credits include She Kills Monsters (Creature Crew), Dancing at Lughnasa (Gerry Evans), and Man & Superman (Hector Malone) at the University of Houston, Saucy Jack and the Space Vixens (Mitch Maypole), and Antony & Cleopatra (Eros/Pompey) with Obsidian Theatre, and Liberators (Emil Rothman Jr.) at Queensbury Theatre. In his free time, Zachary enjoys practicing yoga and going on adventures with his fellow runagates.

Kelsey Busboom (Nurse/Lady Capulet) is a senior acting student at the University of Houston. Most recently, she participated in Winners at UH and Tamarie’s Merry Evening of Mistakes and Regrets with Catastrophic Theatre. Other credits include Animal Farm (Squealer) with dir. Bill Brown and Henry V (Gloucester) with Classical Theatre Company. Future projects include Twelfth Night (Olivia) with dir. Sara Becker and Henry V and Shakespeare in Love for the Illinois Shakespeare Festival. Kelsey loves spending time with her two incredible nieces and happens to find herself in a “crafting” phase.

Wesley Whitson (Tybalt/Friar Lawrence) is thrilled to be touring for his third time with Shakespeare Outreach! A recent graduate of the University of Houston BFA Theatre Program, recent Houston credits include: Mildred’s Umbrella’s Feathers and Teeth (Hugo Schmidt), REC Room’s Dead Rockstar Sing-A-Long Club (George), and Next Iteration Theatre Company’s Turquoise (Lorne). Other credits: Virginia Shakespeare Festival’s productions of Romeo & Juliet and Cymbeline.

Maddie Calais (Mercutio) will be graduating with her BFA in Acting from the University of Houston’s School of Theatre & Dance this May. Her most recent Houston credits include Feathers and Teeth (Mildred’s Umbrella Theatre Company) and An Enemy of the People (Classical Theatre Company). Maddie has been a part of Houston’s Shakespeare Outreach Program for the past three years and is thrilled to be a part of Shakespeare in the Shade this spring.
