Rice University Engineering Professional Master's Programs - EPMP graduate students had a unique opportunity to collaborate with engineering leaders from industry and community organizations this summer as part of Rice Center for Engineering Leadership (RCEL)'s new Summer Engineering Innovation Program.

From AI and cloud computing to blockchain and automation, students in the program used transformative digital technologies to solve challenges across a variety of industries with projects sponsored by SLB, Houston Department of Public Safety, and Houston-based startups Biosphera and ShelfSmart. https://bit.ly/3IRmBye

Engineered with heart: Student-designed device could streamline imaging for cardiac procedures 06/06/2025

🌎 Six Rice University bioengineering students have created a solution that could improve cardiac procedures across the country.

The project has shaped multiple career paths, particularly Alexi Pierre-Louis' decision to pursue Rice's Global Medical Innovation master's program. This specialized non-thesis program will allow her to deepen her expertise in translating medical challenges into engineering solutions.

"The experience showed me how bioengineering can directly improve patient outcomes," Pierre-Louis said.
