In a world that often celebrates chaos, being intentional stands out.

The way we speak.
The way we show up.
The way we communicate online.
The way we treat others when no one is watching.

These things matter.

I often say that Etiquette is not about being perfect, pretending, or putting on a show. It is about demonstrating respect, self-control, and consideration in our daily interactions.

The Bible reminds us in 1 Corinthians 14:40:

“Let all things be done decently and in order.”

Order is not restriction—it is preparation.
Order builds trust.
Order creates opportunities.
Order reflects character.

Whether you’re preparing for a job interview, leading a team, navigating social media, or simply interacting with others, how you conduct yourself speaks before you ever say a word.

Because etiquette isn’t just about what happens at the table.
It’s about how we carry ourselves everywhere.

✨ Etiquette is Essential & Necessary.

It’s been a minute since Lexie stopped by, but she had something important to say… 💜

I don’t match energy. I manage my response.

One of the strongest forms of self-control is choosing how you respond instead of matching someone else’s energy.

Your response has the power to protect your peace, your reputation, and your future opportunities.

Not everything deserves a reaction. Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is pause, think, and respond with intention.

What’s one situation where you had to manage your response instead of matching energy?

Follow Etiquette Beyond The Table for practical life skills, confidence, character, and workplace readiness.

Self-control is a Flex 💪🏾

We live in a world that encourages us to say whatever we think, react however we feel, and defend ourselves at all costs.

But self-control calls us higher.

Self-control isn’t pretending you’re not hurt.
It isn’t suppressing your emotions.
And it definitely isn’t allowing people to mistreat you.

Self-control is having the wisdom to pause before you react.

It’s choosing your response instead of letting your emotions choose it for you.

It’s taking a breath before sending the text.
It’s resisting the urge to get even.
It’s refusing to match energy when someone is disrespectful.
It’s maintaining your character when circumstances make it difficult.

The truth is, self-control isn’t just a personality trait.

It’s a fruit of the Spirit.

Every day we are presented with opportunities to react.

The question is:
Will we react from our emotions or respond from our values?

Because anyone can lose control.

But it takes strength, wisdom, and character to manage your response.

Comment ‘RESPOND’ if you’re working on managing your response instead of matching energy.

School may be out for summer… but character doesn’t take a vacation.

More free time means more choices.
More independence.
More opportunities to either make wise decisions or follow the crowd.

This summer:
✔️ Move with respect
✔️ Be aware of your surroundings
✔️ Think before reacting
✔️ Watch who you’re connected to
✔️ Represent yourself well online and in person

Real confidence is knowing how to carry yourself even when nobody is watching.

Have a safe summer. ☀️

Last Saturday, I attended my first Derby Fest at Sam Houston Race Park and now I understand the excitement.

As an etiquette professional, I naturally pay attention to presence, interaction, and how people carry themselves in different spaces. What stood out most to me wasn’t just the style—it was the confidence, connection, and intentionality people brought into the environment.

Derby Fest reminded me that etiquette isn’t about perfection or being overly formal. It’s about how we show up, engage with others, and create meaningful experiences.

I truly enjoyed myself and left inspired, grateful, and already looking forward to experiencing it again. 🐎
