We are proud to feature Dr. Jake Jares, Trafton Academy Class of 2009 alumni and Carnegie Vanguard High School graduate, in our spotlight!

Dr. Jares earned a B.A. from the University of Rochester and a Ph.D. in Political Economics from Stanford University. He now serves as an Assistant Professor of Political Science at The Bush School of Government & Public Service at Texas A&M University.

Reflecting on his time at Trafton, Jake shared:

“Mrs. Saper and Mrs. Mehlhoff’s English classes were my favorite at Trafton. They fostered discussions about politics, philosophy, and history that made me excited to engage with big ideas and think critically. There was something very special about the way they taught literature and language that more broadly inspired my interest in understanding society and sharpening my purpose of debate and scholarly dialogue.”

Dr. Jares' journey is a wonderful example of the lasting impact of a Trafton education and the power of thoughtful, engaged learning and influential teachers! We are honored to celebrate his continued contributions as a scholar and educator.

We were honored to celebrate an incredible group of students who have grown in knowledge, character, and leadership throughout their time at Trafton Academy. From classroom achievements to athletic victories, service projects, friendships, and unforgettable memories, this class has left a lasting mark on our school community.

The end of the year awards ceremony was a special night to honor students who have sacrificed, persevered, and accomplished wonderful things this school year. We were also filled with pride to induct our upcoming 8th graders to the National Junior Honor Society!
