Rees Elementary Performing & Visual Arts Academy Alief ISD is a high performing, comprehensive K-12 public school district. Rees Elementary School opened its doors to 650 students on August 20, 1984. Mr.

It was the thirteenth elementary school built in the Alief Independent School District. Rees was named to honor Mr. Flem Rees, who was born on September 2, 1896, in Yoakum, Texas. Rees and his family moved to Alief in 1925, where he served as an AISD Board of Education Trustee from 1934 to 1940. Rees was inducted into the South Central Texas Semi-Pro Baseball Hall of Fame. Rees currently serves ap

proximately over 600 students from Pre-K through 4th Grade. Special programs at Rees include Bilingual Education, ESL Services, Special Education Services, Gifted Education, and a Dual Language program from Kindergarten through 4th grade.

The Shooting Stars Dance Team Auditions have been postponed until Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

The audition form will remain open through Friday, September 4. Students are encouraged to continue practicing with the audition video in preparation for the new date.

Attention Parents! Is your child interested in a Dance Clinic? 🌟

The Alief Taylor Crimson Cadettesis hosting a Kiddie Dance Clinic on Saturday, September 12 at the Alief Taylor High School Main Gym! Dancers ages 5–14 can enjoy a fun morning of dance and will also have the opportunity to perform at the September 18 football game! ❤️

Registration is $40 and includes the clinic, a T-shirt, and snack. Scan the QR code on the flyer to register!
