Fall is drill meet time for JROTC programs and today our Navy cadets were solid at the Spring High School JROTC event. Programs from all around Houston competed in inspection, drill, color guard, physical fitness, and academic prowess.

Guthrie teachers tour MCTC Miller Career & Technology Center in Katy ISD to see how other CTE campuses are set up and operate their programs. This is part of our research for planning the next Guthrie building. Many thanks to our gracious hosts!

On a stellar Saturday morning, 28 NJROTC Cadets compete in the Prairie View A&M Drill Meet, with support from graduates Oscar Morales who attend Texas A&M, and Junior Gonzales, a freshman at PVA&M.

Congratulations to NJROTC Cadet Lieutenant Junior Gonzalez, who was awarded a Navy ROTC Scholarship. Junior intends to enroll at Prairie View A&M in the fall and major in Mechanical Engineering. His family, officials from Northbrook high school, and fellow cadets attended the presentation today.

Congratulations to the eighteen members our 2022 Pharmacy Technician cohort. These students not only graduate with multiple technical certifications, they already have or are about to begin positions in the industry while they pursue their healthcare education after high school.

This afternoon students completing our 2022 Patient Care Tech/Certified Phlebotomy Tech program were recognized at a Pinning Ceremony at Guthrie. Congratulations to all of these students who are now able to enter the healthcare profession.

Architectural Design students found out last night the fruits of their labor in the annual Michael G. Meyers High School Design Competition sponsored by the American Institute of Architects Houston. Since 2005 our students have participated and continue the tradition of finishing strong and winning 9 of the 15 awards.
