What's student life like after the LCC?
On Wednesday, March 22, four LCC Graduates who are now studying at UH will be at Conversation Club to answer your questions and give you advice about life as a university student.

The Language and Culture Center (LCC) will offer three full scholarships for the Summer 2017 term. The full scholarships acknowledge distinguished achievement and honor legendary LCC leaders. The scholarships cover tuition and all fees (except books) for one term of study in the LCC.
• Joyce Valdes Scholarship
• Joseph Davidson Scholarship
• Brad Powell Scholarship

Who is eligible?
Current LCC students in Levels 1 through 5 who plan to enroll for the immediately following term.

Who is not eligible?
• Level 6 students
• Past recipients
• Students who have a scholarship or sponsorship from another source during Spring 2017
• Students who owe money to the LCC or the University of Houston

How does a student apply?
Log in to the LCC Student System on the LCC website at lcc.uh.edu.

What is the first date to apply?
Monday, March 20, 9:00 a.m.

What is the deadline to apply?
Friday, March 31, 5:00 p.m.

Scholarships are awarded to students who show the following characteristics:
• Academic excellence
• Good class attendance
• Participation in class and program activities
• Leadership ability
• Intercultural understanding
• Positive interaction with classmates and teachers

Notes:
• LCC scholarships are based on merit and not based on a student’s financial need.
• All applicants will be considered for all three scholarships.
• Applicants must be present at the LCC Graduation Ceremony to receive the scholarship.

It's rodeo season in Houston, and LCC students and teachers had some Texas-style fun with line dancing. A big thank you to level 5 teacher Jana Runnels for teaching us the steps!

Get ready for the Rodeo and Spring Break at Conversation Club this Friday. We'll talk about what to expect at the rodeo AND we'll try traditional Texas line dancing. Remember to wear your LCC bandana on Friday!
