SOAR had a great session with Baylor College of Medicine Department of Surgery faculty, showcasing how they can mentor BCM medical students in research!

Why mentor? SOAR connects BCM med students with 430+ research projects, and those who found projects through SOAR are succeeding in research scholarships!

📢 Opportunity for BCM Faculty Research Mentors in SOAR: Learn from Successful Medical Student-Mentor Teams

In our latest From the Labs feature, discover how Dr. Richard Bui, a recent medical graduate and current anesthesiology resident, and his mentor, Dr. Chase McNeil, turned their collaboration through the SOAR program into:
✅ A first-author publication in the Journal of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society
✅ A presentation at the Infectious Diseases Society of America conference
✅ Professional growth for both student and mentor

🤝 SOAR connects motivated BCM medical students with faculty mentors for research. Faculty can submit their projects or list themselves as mentors to support students like Dr. Bui, who are eager to make a difference.
