The silenced experience at Rice
So many issues surround the Black experience at Rice that we doubt an entire edition of the Rice Thresher could do it justice, never mind a single piece. However, we make do with an op-ed, one which has already been slightly controversial.

Hey Martel! Dr. Alexander Byrd is giving a lecture at the African American Library at the Gregory School on 1300 Victor Street. Rice is also providing a shuttle to the location! The shuttle will leave the campus at 1:30 p.m. Students are asked to meet in the lobby in front of the Grand Hall of the Rice Memorial Center about five or ten minutes before the departure time. Norma will be going and it will be a great lead in into the Black Experience Panel at 6:30 held by Milkessa!
This is also a great opportunity to check out the “Blacks at Rice: An Evolving Legacy” exhibition which closes Feb 23!
Parking is located on the Cleveland side of the building.
