Texas has recently clarified the rules for its private school voucher program, which will allow some families to use Education Freedom Account funds for private pre-K, offering up to $10,800 per year to help cover tuition and related costs. While this creates a new option for a limited group of families, eligibility remains narrow. Only children who already qualify for free public pre-K under existing income or eligibility criteria can access these funds.

TXAEYC is continuing to follow these developments closely and considering what they mean for early childhood educators, providers, and families across Texas, especially as conversations about access and affordability continue.
