Welcome to the Department of Political Science at the University of Houston's page! In recent years, we have experienced renewal and growth.
With faculty who excel both as researchers and teachers, the department has a strong tradition of excellence in undergraduate and graduate education. Ten new faculty have joined us, adding range and depth in a diversity of fields.
• In American Politics, we have added to our expertise in political behavior and the study of institutions: the presidency, courts, and legislatures.

We'll be hosting an alumni happy hour on Thursday, April 19 at Around the Corner (1510 Hutchins St, Houston, TX 77003). Join faculty members from 4:30-6:30 to reminisce about the department and enjoy some fellowship. We look forward to seeing you all there!

Political Science and the CICS helped sponsor the Houston Area Model UN conference, which started today. Over 1,000 high school students are participating and former Mayor Annise Parker spoke at the opening ceremony today.
