Kinstretch for Golfers

Kinstretch for Golfers

Share

KINSTRETCH approach is designed to create more strength and mobility, generate power from full range of motion & prevent injuries and greater body control.

Mobility and strength are foundational for all movements and often skipped over for the more flashy exercises. Even the most fit golfer, from juniors to seniors, have areas that need more mobility and ranges that need more control and strength. Kinstretch targets those ranges to create resilient joints, body control, strength in end ranges and prevent injuries. You have to feel it to know how much it can do for you.

The BEST Early-Extension Drill 👍 03/14/2022

Calling all early extenders ...

The BEST Early-Extension Drill 👍 You might LOVE me for this (lol), but then again, you might hate me for this tough strength and mobility drill taught in my golf mobility classes.

You might LOVE me for this (lol), but then again, you might hate me for this tough strength and mobility drill from my golf mobility classes. This drill ...
*Requires solid hip hinge
*Requires lower body stability
*Uses your maximum spine rotation
*Reaches your arms into their deepest diagonal stretch
***Might just be your cure for anti-early extension!

Early extension, which means your hips don't stay on the line, is found in about 64% of all golfers, has many causes and can take many forms in your swing. But this strength and mobility drill is likely to address a lot of those body issues plus will make you much more able to "own" your swing.

According to TPI, Early Extension is the most common swing characteristic. Even Scottie Scheffler early extends on occasion!

Directions for my drill:
Equipment needed: long pole or long club, yoga block and wall.
1. Get into golf posture and position one hip against a yoga block on the wall. Rotate your spine away from the wall while holding long club or stick as shown with outside arm high and inside arm low on the pole. Use the pole to deepen the spine rotation stretch while maintaining a deep hip hinge. This drill is purely spine rotation without spine side bend.
2. After stretching for 2 minutes, gradually drive the pole down into the ground. This will load the stretch and slightly increase your torso rotation. Gradually build the load and hold for 5 - 10 seconds at your maximum.
3. Then quickly rotate deeper to lift the pole 1" off the ground. This "regressive" contraction will challenge your lower body stability and reveal your ability to hold your posture without pitching hips forward or flexing the spine.
4. Repeat this process for a second or third round.
5. Finish this series with 5 - 10 "lift-offs" for core rotation speed and accessing fast twitch muscle fibers.
6. Repeat the whole process on the other side.

I can't wait to hear from you after you do this drill! Seriously, please send all comments my way and share this email and video with your buddies!

・・・
Fake mobility is when an area compensates for a joint that's not doing its job. This causes the non working joint to get worse and lose more mobility and strength. Win Kinstretch we establish INDEPENDENT joint control which leads to mobility, body control and resilient joints that can produce force and beautiful athletic movements. Come to class or learn with online coaching. Learn CARs and do them daily. Get assessed and work on your limitations to build a strong foundation for greater movements.

Ground Control 06/16/2021

Ground Control Do you feel a connection to the ground at set up and throughout the swing? Do your ankles allow a deep backswing and finish without sliding, swaying or standing up? This month’s video examines the ground/foot connection for golf performance because great foot/ankle proprioception means more stabil...
