Job Description
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Position is responsible for leading the musical aspects of the Sunday worship services.
• Select Liturgy, Hymns, Songs, Anthems, Offertory Music Selections along with Pastor
• Rehearsals of Vocalists, Choirs, Ensembles, and Musicians
• The Recruiting and training of musicians and vocalist
• Setting and Keeping the budget for the Worship Ministry
• Leading and Conducting the worship services each week
• Working with the Pastor and music team in all aspects of worship and music ministry
• Provide Direction to Sound Engineer for all aspects of Sound, Light, and Visuals for the Worship Services
• Planning and organizing music concerts and special worship services
• Maintain the music library and inventory of all musical equipment and instruments
• Direct efforts to provide spiritual and relational care for Music and Arts Ministry participants
• Oversee organist, music planners, musicians
• Oversee copyright compliance
• Establish standards for worship activities and oversee evaluation against those standards to identify progress
• Have a Vision and Plan for Reformed Worship that is vibrant and celebrates the Gospel of Christ
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Music degree and/or church music certification preferred. Experience in choral directing of large and small groups preferred. The Director will have a music performance background and experience in leading vocalists and musicians. The Director will work well with others and have a wide range of knowledge in traditional and contemporary worship forms.
PREFERRED SKILLS
A passion for the worship of God. Faith in Christ, and has a grasp on gospel-centered participatory worship that uses reformed and ancient liturgy, yet able to select the best of modern praise music. Have mastery of a music instrument (guitar or piano) and able to lead congregational worship.
Ability to write arrangements for services, vocalists, and instrumentalists beneficial. The ability to work efficiently and effectively in a team setting is critical, as well as the ability to work independently.
