This semester, HCC Central College had two faculty members recognized by NISOD (National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development) for their meaningful contributions in supporting student success!

Professor Matt Adams serves as HCC’s Program Coordinator for Electrical Technology & Smart Building Technology. Through his leadership, he consistently introduces cutting-edge technologies and hands-on learning opportunities that prepare students for the evolving workforce.

Professor Cheryl Whitaker serves as HCC’s Program Coordinator for Fashion Management & Merchandising. Her forward-thinking approach in the classroom challenges the next generation of fashion professionals to blend creativity with business insight.

Both professors had the opportunity to attend the 2026 NISOD Conference alongside other award recipients from Houston City College. We’re proud to celebrate their excellence and look forward to seeing how their students continue to transform their fields.
