On March 14, the Jesse H. Jones, Metro Houston, and College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences alumni chapters came together in honor of International Women’s Month for Tiger Day of Service, held on the first Saturday of the last month of each quarter. Tiger Day of Service is a time when alumni select an organization to support through volunteer service. For this quarter’s service project, we volunteered at Star of Hope, a major Christ-centered nonprofit organization dedicated to serving individuals experiencing homelessness by providing emergency shelter, recovery programs, and life-skills training for women and children.

This volunteer opportunity not only helped strengthen our community, but it also strengthened the bond among alumni by giving us the chance to connect and engage with members from other chapters we do not typically have the opportunity to interact with. We look forward to future collaborations and continuing to make a positive impact together.

We gave our time, we gave our energy, & in some moments we gave out hugs. Thank you to everyone that donated and helped make this Tiger Day of Service a success!

The Reed Road location focuses primarily on women and their needs. Star of Hope has earned a 97% charity score and a Four-Star rating, reflecting its strong impact and accountability.

The items specifically requested for this drive include:
• Women’s toiletry items
• Baby items

• Bedding (twin size)

All donations are welcome and greatly appreciated.
