The H-Town AAHGS Chapter invites you to an informative online workshop led by Tammy Ozier--Genealogist, Genetic Practitioner, and AAHGS National Board Director. During this session, Ms. Ozier will share practical techniques and research methods for locating and interpreting Freedmen’s Bureau records. She will also demonstrate how artificial intelligence tools can help genealogists organize information, analyze documents, develop research questions, and identify new avenues for investigation.
Freedmen’s Bureau records are among the most valuable resources for researching African American families during and immediately after the Civil War. These records may contain information about marriages, labor contracts, education, medical care, military service, legal matters, family relationships, and formerly enslaved communities.
This workshop is open to researchers of all skill levels—from beginners who are building their first family trees to experienced genealogists seeking new research strategies.
