Therefore, we will stream live on January 15, 2016 at 7pm CST. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOVmO08Joqo. Please tune in! Remember last year for the class, we streamed live from the Menil for the Dr. Martin Luther King celebration with Talib Kweli. This year it is David Banner! Its a Southern Perspective this time! In 2013, SwishaHouse, became the first Houston recording label to be archived by the Center for Engaged Research and Collaborative Learning (CERCL) at the Woodson Research Center Special Collections and University Archives at Rice University’s Fondren Library. We launched the archive with a panel discussion about the history of the label at Rice University's Grand Hall.

On World AIDS Day, Dec 1, 2015, we will team up again along with CCM Foundation to bring artists, including Bernard "Bun B" Freeman, CERCL Distinguished Lecturer, to Rice to discuss 34 years of World AIDS Day and Houston's response.

CERCL's Leadership Lecture Series advances understanding of Houston’s impact on national issues of religion, social justice, political equality, etc., by inviting noteworthy figures to give public lectures on related topics. All lectures and panel discussions are free and open to the public.
