A collection of works by Patrick Palmer, dean of the Studio School, the exhibition "Imagined Ancestors" highlights the generations of people who have shaped his life.

The paintings and sculptures tackle the impossible idea that there could be a singular moment or expression that defines these individuals. Palmer investigates these quiet moments to better understand how the past and present are forever connected.

Celebrate the vibrant artistry of the Jubilee Quilt Circle at "In Living Color," the culminating exhibition of their second year in the Quilters in Residence program at the Glassell School of Art, held in collaboration with the Community Artists' Collective. 🎨🧵

Through bold color, texture, symbolism, and storytelling, each artist brings a unique perspective to the rich tradition of quilting, inviting viewers to explore deeper meaning within both contemporary and classical designs.

A recent Vitality Arts Workshop explored the art of beading, as participants stitched intricate designs onto felt to bring texture and dimension to their work, guided by multidisciplinary artist Lakea Shepard. 🧵✨

Vitality Arts Workshop is a FREE monthly series for adults 55+ that celebrates creativity, lifelong learning, and the joy of making art together.

Presented by the Glassell School of Art and the Jubilee Quilt Circle of the Community Artists' Collective, each workshop offers hands-on experiences with professional teaching artists, blending contemporary art practices with rich fiber arts traditions.

Having previously lead the Core Residency Program and served as interim director, Handwerker now oversees the Glassell Studio School, Junior School, and Core Residency Program, continuing to advance the school’s mission through creativity, collaboration, and artistic excellence.
