It was a pleasure speaking with you today and I am excited to work with you in getting your Teachers and Future Teachers on the Education Pathway to higher learning.
My name is Arthemise Foley, Program Coordinator Outreach Education. My role is to be your cheerleader in assisting you in getting enrolled and obtaining your CDA.
Thank you for your interest in the Child Development Associate Certificate (CDA).
This is a great opportunity for your Teachers to obtain a CDA ...FREE.
Please send me the names and email addresses of your Teachers to reserve slots in the upcoming class, CDA I
Remember, you must read and follow the instructions carefully to ensure a smooth eligibility and enrollment process. This is a 5-week Course CDA program which means CDA I- CDA III are 5 weeks, each class. You must attend class.
You are applying for the Texas Public Education Grant (TPEG)
It is a government state funded grant that will pay the tuition for the course; CDA I, CDA II and CDA III. Books are NOT Included... Each course must be taken consecutively, in order, one at a time. You must repeat the same application process during the enrollment period to receive the grant funds which are released directly to the Houston Community College Finance Office. You must attend class or you will have to pay out of pocket.
Great News! The classes are a 5-week SERIES CDA Program. This means each class will be 5 weeks. CDA I, CDA II and CDA III. Total of 15 weeks
So, let's complete the required documents so that you will be approved before the class starts. You will receive a student ID upon completion of the entire packet attached. Please call me if you need assistance.
Teachers, please follow the instructions below
Step I
Register in our Education Department Survey link or us the QR code attached, answer a few questions and click on the drop-down box labeled Child Development Associate. I will contact you when I receive your registration notice in the system. (provide your telephone number in the survey registration)
The sooner you register, the quicker we can get you approved for funding and enrolled in the CDA class.
Step II
Complete the TPEG APPLICATION Forms in the attachment to receive funding to pay for the class.
All TEPEG forms MUST be completed for eligibility and submitted ELECTRONICALLY.
Step III
Complete the CDA Application Enrollment Form.
