Battleship Texas Overnight Education Program

o tell you about the five boxes of Fig Newton cookies in 1918 and Maggie being in the ship's Brig (jail) in 1931. Access is afforded to some ship areas that are not opened to the general public, such as:

* 14inch Gun Turret Interior - with the largest guns on any ship in the world in 1914. You'll get to go inside and actually touch these giant guns.
* Pilot House - The Pilot House is located up in the forward mast, from where the ship was steered. From here was viewed the surrendering German Navy, on 21 November 1918. During World War II was the command center for the ship's six combat operations, including the invasion of Normandy. The Pilot House was damaged and the crew injured by enemy fire during the 25 June 1944 Battle of Cherbourg.
* Captain's Cabin - You'll see it with it's 1914 and World War II furnishings. Scheduling an Overnight Visit Aboard The Battleship TEXAS! Group Requirement

* Male and/or Female
o Seperate sleeping quarters are available based on gender
* Age: 7 years old (or 1st grade) and older
* Organized group: Boy or Girl Scouts, Church groups, School teams or groups, Service groups, Companies and other organized groups. This is an educational experience for organized male and female groups 7 years (or in the 1st grade) and older aboard this historic and unique ship that is almost 100 years old. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend as Leaders. Persons Per Group

* Minimum - 15 or call for special arrangements
* Maximum - 75: Subject to availability
* Adult Supervision: 1 adult per six youth (with youth being up to the age of 18)

Contact the Overnight Program for date and capacity availability. A tentative date can be made and held open for two weeks. Your date is confirmed once a deposit is received. Deposit
