Strake Jesuit was one of six Catholic schools nationwide to run a pilot program this past school year on “The Living Fire: Contemporary Catholic Writers for the Classroom,” which invites teachers and students to a sampling of contemporary sacramental poetry and reflection questions. The book encourages readers to contemplate the mystery of God’s creation. Our English Department Chair, Mrs. Lesley Clinton, was one of the editors!

Congratulations to Tomas Larriva ’28 on being awarded the Max Finney Foundation scholarship! The Foundation is named in memory of Max Finney, a member of the Class of 2022, who tragically died in the summer of 2018. Scholarships are granted to young men of sound character, good scholars, those involved in the school and community, and those who exhibit leadership. It is a separate entity from Strake Jesuit and thus controls the selection process and awarding of the scholarship. To learn more about Max and the Foundation, visit https://maxfinneyfoundation.com/ We are very grateful to the Max Finney Foundation and the Finney family for creating this opportunity!
