South Houston NSBE Jr.

South Houston NSBE Jr. Pre-College members of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) who have come together to form a local chapter dedicated to the NSBE mission. A NSBE Jr.

The National Society of Black Engineers was founded in 1975 at Purdue University by six students known as the Chicago Six. NSBE was created because there was a need to support blacks pursuing degrees in the field of engineering. NSBE has grown to be the largest student run organization, with over 30,000 members. All of our activities support our mission. NSBE has a Pre-College Initiative program c

alled NSBE Jr. Chapter consists of middle and high school students who also help serve the NSBE Mission. In 2008, the South Houston NSBE Jr. Chapter was chartered in Houston, Tx. In 2009, the chapter opened its membership to over 40 new members and 30 other student participants. Since then, the chapter has continued to grow in all aspects! What is our purpose? To expose our members to:
•Science & Engineering
•A Network of Working Professionals
•Other NSBE Students Nationwide
