Finding the RIGHT TEACHER. Nothing else matters! Everything we do is designed to foster student-teacher relationships. Over the last ten years we accumulated the strongest Faculty in Houston. Our teachers have implacable training and qualifications. They also are very different individuals. In our interviews we ask each students about their goals, desires and aspirations and work with them finding
the best fit for every family. Once you are placed in your teacher's studio you'll work with the same teacher every semester. No going from person to person every time the schedule changes! We have developed a teaching philosophy which sets us apart. Our school has about 5% drop out rate, compared to research estimates of 50% for music students. This can be attributed to the satisfaction students experience after their hard work results in measurable successes. After years of working with many different children, we have discovered that the harder the student works the sooner he or she experiences satisfaction and the joy of making music. “Going easy” -- trying to coax the student to enjoy practice doesn't really help. We give students the best instruction and the tools they need. We expect them to work hard and the magic happens. They all do! After just one semester a typical beginner is able to count rhythm, sometimes even read music and play several pieces. He or she is usually able to give a confident performance of a memorized piece at the recital. We are not a school for selected prodigies, though we have had quite a few exceptionally talented students; almost any “regular” child with proper instruction is capable of achieving these goals.
