THIS IS A MESSAGE FROM DEER PARK ISD:

School and all related activities are canceled for today, Sept. 1, for all Deer Park ISD campuses.

DPISD employees should not report for duty with the exception of a small group of maintenance employees, who will be contacted directly by their supervisor.

The District participated in a conference call with county emergency officials regarding what is now called Tropical Storm Edouard.

Emergency officials stated that the storm worsened overnight, potentially affecting our area with significant rain and flooding.

Please stay safe during this weather event, and we encourage you to monitor weather conditions throughout the day.

Pirate Pride! 💙

Congratulations to the students and staff of Deepwater Junior High for earning four 2026 STAAR distinctions: Academic Achievement in Science, Academic Achievement in Social Studies, Closing the Gaps, and Post-Secondary Readiness.

A distinction is an award given by the Texas Education Agency to high-performing schools. Each school is compared to a group of 40 similar schools from across the state. To earn a distinction, the school must perform in the top 10 of those 40 comparative schools.

For parents and stakeholders, distinctions are exciting accomplishments indicating that their child’s school is performing at a high level in specific areas when compared to similar schools.

🍧 Snow Cones & Schedules is Monday! 🍧

Join us at Deepwater Junior High on Monday, August 10, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. for our Snow Cones & Schedules and Title I Parent-Family Compact Night.

Families will be able to:

• Pick up student schedules
• Meet teachers
• Pay fees
• Update paperwork and student information
• Purchase DWJH merchandise
• Review and sign the Title I Parent-Family Compact
• Ask questions and get ready for the first day
• Enjoy a snow cone

A quick reminder as we get ready for school to begin:

School hours are 8:30 a.m. to 3:55 p.m.
Doors open each morning at 7:15 a.m. for students eating breakfast in the cafeteria.

We are excited to welcome our Pirate families back to campus! ☠️💙

A huge shoutout to our incredible TLS, Mrs. Amanda Szymczak, for helping welcome and support our newest Pirates at New Teacher Orientation. We are so pumped to have this group joining our crew and cannot wait to see the energy, talent, and heart they bring to our students and campus.
