Irish in the Classroom Friday

This Irish in the Classroom Friday, we’re highlighting IRST/COMM 4393: Irish Film, taught by Drs. Martin Lockerd and Marek Dojs! 🎥🇮🇪 The course meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:10–3:25 p.m. in the Flynn Center. Students are enjoying an engaging mix of film, culture, and history, making the course both educational and fun. 📚✨ So far, Irish Film has been very well received, with students exploring Ireland one movie at a time! 🍿☘️

Celebrating the Irish spirit in America

In honor of Bloomsday, the Irish Consulate in Austin interviewed a number of University of St. Thomas students about their experiences studying Irish literature at home and abroad. Next month another group of ten UST students will be traveling to the land of Yeats, Joyce, and Heaney to learn about Ireland's rich literary tradition.

We are excited to announce that that the William J. Flynn Center for Irish Studies at the University of St. Thomas will be hosting the 2026 conference of the International Yeats Studies December 3-5. This conference, which celebrates the legacy of the national poet of Ireland, will include two public lectures by eminent scholars.
