Hopefully everyone survived the Ice/Power/Water Valentines Day Apocalypse! Classes will resume again today right where we left off. See you in ZOOM.

02/15/2021

Well I WAS going to have online class today but the access.uh.edu AND the my.uh.edu website are down. And even though ZOOM is working, I don't think we can really have class today. SO, I will record an asynchronous class session for today. The material will cover getting the LAMP stack installed on your Container and experimenting with admin'ing a web/server. I may also get into Virtualmin.

Check Blackboard for updates and assignments. We will restart class online next Monday. No face to face until notified.

Everyone needs a working centos 7 container and a centos vm by Monday. If the networking part of the vm isn't working, that's ok. I'll show you how to fix it Monday.

Today SOME of you are going to install Proxmox so MAKE SURE you have downloaded the latest Proxmox VE 6.x ISO from the proxmox.com site and also downloaded etcher (etcher.io) and gotten a 4 gig or bigger USB flash drive to burn it onto. Sadly, you can't use the lab workstations for this, so it has to be on your laptop. I will walk you through the procedure today.

Summer 2019. Omg!!!

Hello!
I sent out some notes today on Proxmox with video links. I want to point out that all of this info is under Course Content on Blackboard already. The only difference is that it references an older version of Proxmox. Be sure to go to proxmox.com and get the latest 5.3 VE nd use that instead.

There are also notes about accessing the EiLab machines and setting up your Windows VM.

See you in class.
