Before you buy another machine, ask yourself: do you have an equipment problem or a business problem?

A slow month doesn't automatically mean you need a new service. And seeing another beauty professional use the latest technology doesn't mean your business is missing it.

Because here's the truth: you can't fix a marketing problem with a machine. You can't fix a sales problem with technology. And you can't fix an unprofitable business model by adding another monthly payment.

Sometimes your next revenue opportunity isn't sitting in the machine you're thinking about buying. It's sitting in the machine you already own.

Think like a business owner before you make your next investment. 💰

💬 Be honest—have you ever bought something for your business because you thought it would solve a problem, only to realize the problem was something else?

LASER BURNS ARE NOT “JUST PART OF THE PROCESS.” 🚨

Yes, burns are a possible risk with laser hair removal but that does not mean we should normalize them.

When a burn happens, I want to know why.

Was it the settings? The device? Not enough cooling? Too much overlap? Recent sun exposure? Improper skin prep? Something in the aftercare?

There are a lot of variables that can affect how the skin responds, especially when we’re treating melanin-rich skin.

And this is why I always say: *the goal is not to see how high you can turn the laser up.

The goal is to use the safest effective settings for that specific client and get the result without unnecessarily traumatizing the skin.

And if something starts looking or feeling wrong during the treatment?

Stop. Cool the skin. Reassess.

Don’t keep going just because you’ve already started.

THE QUESTION ISN'T JUST WHAT SETTINGS WERE USED ….. MORE IMPORTANTLY WHY DIDN'T THE TREATMENT STOP? 👀

One of the most important parts of laser education is knowing when not to keep going.

During a treatment, the skin needs to be continuously monitored. While some temporary redness and swelling around the follicles can be expected, changes that suggest the skin isn't responding appropriately should never be ignored.

A machine can't tell you when to stop. That decision requires knowledge, observation, and proper training.

Whether you're a client considering laser hair removal or a professional performing the treatment, understanding what to watch for matters.

Sometimes the safest decision is to stop, reassess, and protect the skin.

You learned the service. But did you learn the business?

Getting certified or licensed is an incredible first step, but certifications and licensure don't prepare you for everything that comes with owning a beauty business.

You can be amazing at your craft and still need to learn about overhead, pricing, marketing, sales, insurance, compliance, bookkeeping, client acquisition, staffing, and the numbers behind your business.

The goal isn't to discourage you from becoming an entrepreneur. It's to prepare you for what entrepreneurship actually requires.

If your dream is bigger than performing a service, your education has to become bigger too.

💬 What part of business ownership do you wish someone had taught you sooner?

Sometimes you just have to slow down and make a good old-fashioned comfort meal. 🤎🍽️

Hamburger steaks, homemade gravy, fresh mashed potatoes, and green beans and yes, everybody approved! 😂

With how busy life and business can get, I really enjoyed having a little time in the kitchen cooking for my family.

Do you enjoy cooking for your family, or are you more of a “somebody else cook” kind of person? 👀

Black skin can’t get laser hair removal? Let’s retire that myth. 👏🏽

Melanin-rich skin can absolutely be treated with laser hair removal, but the provider, wavelength, settings, and training all matter.

Laser is not one-size-fits-all, especially when treating melanated skin.

Before your treatment, ask:
✨ What type of laser and wavelength are you using?
✨ Is it appropriate for my skin type?
✨ What experience do you have treating melanated skin?

Your melanin is not the problem. Your skin deserves knowledgeable, properly trained care. 🤎

Save this before your next laser consultation and share it with someone who needs to hear this.

Not sure what order your skincare products should go in? Let’s make it simple. ✨

Your skincare routine doesn’t need to be complicated. What matters is knowing what to apply, when to apply it, and why.

☀️ Morning: Cleanse → Tone → Moisturize → Protect
🌙 Night: Cleanse → Tone → Treat → Moisturize

Thank you , , , and for keeping me looking good and smelling good! ✨

You don't need 10–12 products to have an effective routine. Start with the essentials, use them consistently, and understand what each product is doing for your skin.

Save this for your next skincare routine!

💬 What's the one skincare step you never skip?

Part 2 of our Grenada adventure 🌴💙

If you know me, you know I love experiencing a destination beyond the resort and Grenada did not disappoint!

From learning about the island’s incredible spices and exploring the beautiful Concord Falls, to celebrating my birthday, shopping local, and discovering so many special places along the way, this trip gave us so many memories to take home.

And of course, no vacation is complete without a little self-care. We ended our adventure with a relaxing couples massage. 💆🏽‍♀️💆🏽‍♂️

So grateful for the experiences, the people we met, and all the beauty Grenada had to offer.

Until the next adventure… ✈️🌴
