Regina's Tips for 💉 Injections / Shot / Blood Work
(If you are deathly or moderately afraid)

#1) If you’re getting blood drawn, ask for you to draw blood from the outer EITHER EDGE of your elbow!!! I wish I knew that earlier because it's way less painful!!!

#2) Queued up head phones is a must.

#3) Dress to impress (but maybe not white 🩸) Dressing up triggers the release of neurotransmitters associated with positive emotions such as dopamine.

#4) I have low blood pressure so I request to have blood work done in a recliner. (They usually have at least one room that has this)

#5) Bring snacks like honey roasted nuts 🥜 and electrolytes 🧃. Sometimes I get so worked up about it and afterwords, I crash.

#6) It’s okay to bring backup, like a good friend or EAS/Support Animal 🦮. It doesn’t mean you’re weak, there’s bravery in being vulnerable.

#7) Hydrate and if you’re getting Phenol, drink something with favor. (Trust me. It tastes like formaldehyde and let your doctors know if you are feeling weird)
