To provide a debate education to as students as possible, we have decided to lower our prices by 50%. This means that the cost of each Maverick Debate camp session will drop from $220 to $110.

Hey everyone, we are excited to announce that Maverick Debate will be back for the 2019 Summer! We have a new website- https://maverickdebate.com!
Our hours this year will be from 10 AM to 4 PM with additional before and after camp instruction from 9 AM to 10 AM and 4 PM to 5 PM. Our fee is $220 for regular camp hours and $20 for either before/after camp and $40 for both. This year, we will also be donating a significant portion of our revenue to the Houston Urban Debate League which helps fund debate education and tournaments for those who may not have the opportunity otherwise!

Our session 2 students and instructors!

Yesterday was our last day for session 2! We had our semifinal and finals as well as our speech presentation/awards ceremony!

Today was day 1 of our end of camp tournament! Each student was able to debate in 2 full length debates on whether or not America should accede to the United Nations convention on the law of the seas. Additionally, students also rehearsed their speeches on stage and played some debate games. For example, students could win a prize by talking about a specific topic for one minute without any fluency breaks or filler words.

Students participated in their first practice debates today!

Today students participated in some more spar debates, presented their articles about UNCLOS, practiced their analytic responses, and started working on their cases/speeches for the end of camp.
