Impact work can be grueling but these moments make it worth it. I share an excerpt of gratitude from a Grenadian participant in the UNESCO sponsored Training Consultant for Entrepreneurship and Soft Skills for the “Resilient Caribbean: Grenadian Youth Empowered for the Digital World of Work” Project in 2023 and 2024.

I delivered my High-impact Coaching 3.5 hr session to all of the Operations leaders at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine on Friday. I provide this leadership engagement format as an option, as many leaders desire guidance for specific situations they are facing, they want answers not theory.
Last time I was at Ross it was a hybrid session with their regional tech team for a full day retreat.
I enjoy my clients and I appreciate their investment.

Another full circle moment in my leadership chronicles. The St.Kitts Nevis Student Nurses Association asked that I deliver a keynote address at their Leadership Day Retreat on May 6th.
The circle - here we go. The Events Co-ordinator of their Executive Committee, shared how she first met me as an Information Technology student at the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College when I was asked to replace their lecturer with just 6 months before regional exams. She described me as the person they summon when chaos needs righting.
Now more than almost 15 years later:
- Kizzyann has changed careers but her leadership acumen is intact just as it was in the classroom back then
- I was a senior lecturer at the institution and now I have returned to it, having been appointed as Board Chair of that institution
- I’ve never ceased to be a leader and transformative force.
It was an insightful and emotional experience for us all. We discussed misogyny that rears its head in their clinical settings. We discussed dismantling self to lead and champion and steer change management. I spent quite a bit of time discussing negotiation and the idea of zero sum gaming as applied to stakeholder negotiation. We explored the Imposter Jumbie (how it haunts you) and strategies to banish it to hell where ghouls belong.
I invite you into my leadership circle. I will be facilitating a 4 session accredited virtual leadership program in June. We dismantle archaic paradigms and rebuild systems customized to your real life context and situations.
Message me for details.

You know this pain, as I once did. Leadership is about actually empowering others to lead but more importantly creating systems and processes that churn on in your absence. In my absence as Chair:
- all Board Sub-committees are still chugging along
- my Deputy Chair leads with my full confidence and the confidence of the team members we lead
- the Board will convene in an extraordinary meeting
- my Board Secretary's dashboard has been populated with matters to attend to in my absence
- strategic decisions have been taken on the furtherance of our climate financing goals in my absence and without my consultation
This is only possible because of the resilient redesign of systems, the agile articulation regarding the vision of the institution - so no matter the executive in the decision making seat, decisions are aligned with the strategic intent and our Board Pillars.
It did not happen overnight, it required skillful redesign and a framework for change management. The systems will continue to be iterated as we find gaps. However, if you have no system you will continue to suffer from overwhelm- when you suffer, your team suffers - when that occurs the organization's trajectory becomes uncertain and the transformation velocity slows. This is is the hard work that must be done.
