🔍 There are currently NO routine screening tests for Vulvar Cancer. Despite its seriousness, there has been little to no national investment in developing screening methods or advancing treatments for this disease in recent years.

🩺 Even during routine gynecological exams, the v***a is often overlooked. Many providers focus solely on the va**na and cervix, leaving the v***a unexamined—despite it being a critical part of gynecological health.

✨ That’s why monthly v***ar self-exams are essential. They’re simple, quick, and potentially life-saving. All you need is a handheld mirror, a comfortable position, and a few minutes to get familiar with your body. When you know what’s normal for you, you’ll be better equipped to notice when something isn’t.

👀 During your self-exam, look for:

⚡️ Lumps

⚡️ Bumps or pimples

⚡️ Moles

⚡️ Wart-like or cauliflower-shaped growths

⚡️ Ulcers

⚡️ White or red raised lesions

Expressing these thoughts creatively is SO important. Thank you, @lmbinthecle! So many feel the same way.✊🔥🌪 • I can’t draw but this is how I feel lately. Can I really dip my toe back into “normal” life? The one that people who have no idea what cancer at this age feels like live? I’m far too fearful of recurrence for that. But I *want* so badly to leave the other place. But then I don’t completely want to leave it because there are people there I care about, and there is so much work to be done on metastatic breast cancer research. I’m terrified to think of the future, and anytime I do, it’s in increments of three months since that’s how often I have check ups. It’s heart wrenching and infuriating. Then there are days when I feel like I’ve been given a gift, because I truly know now how important life is. I don’t care about so much I used to. Today is a hard day where everything feels heavy. I hope tomorrow will be better.
