Check out the latest episode of our very own Launch Pad Podcast! During this segment, you get to hear from Alejandro Perez, one of our Machining Professors here at Lone Star College-University Park, and Gabriel Cardenas, the Director of Machining Technology at Lone Star College-North Harris!

This episode brings you on Professor Perez's professional journey as a Lone Star College Machining Student, to receiving his certificate training, and becoming a CNC Machinist. From there, he became a CNC Programmer, Manufacturing designer, and now works as an applications engineer today, on top of instructing machining classes! We are excited to announce that this episode is in Spanish to help eliminate some of the assumed barriers of going to college. Check out the full video below!

Our first-ever National Technical Honor Society Induction Ceremony was a great success! This ceremony allowed us to recognize each student's hard work and success while also highlighting their leadership and skill development throughout their educational journey.

We would also like to give a huge thank you to The Hoyt Foundation for the major part they play in the support and success of our chapter!

We are now accepting applications to our annual Industrial STEM Summer Camp! This year, we will be partnering with Spark! PK-12 Engineering Education Outreach at Texas A&M Engineering & Compudopt, with topics including coding, app development, industry AI, CAD designing, & more! In addition, our camp is completely free, geared toward High School students, and all campers will receive a free laptop to keep!

We were given the chance to represent ourselves and our division to community members who had the chance to explore our programs and Career opportunities! These initial events were a great start to hosting more of these in the future! Stay tuned for updates and new events!

Last week, we hosted our first-ever Chill, Chat, & Chew Event! This was such a success in showcasing our career opportunities, programs, and funding to the students, siblings, and parents who attended! A great foundation for the start of a new tradition here in Computer & Engineering Technologies!

It's Official! We are excited to share that Lone Star College-University Park is now the newest official chapter of the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS)! This is an exciting milestone for our Computer & Engineering Technologies Division, opening the door to new opportunities and recognition for our students.
