About the Course(s):
Each MBC course is 5-months in length: 20 weeks @ six (6) hours per week (3 hours per day, 2 days a week), for a total of 120 clock hours. These courses in Medical Coding & Billing Course are scheduled to begin during the week of June 24-27, 2019, as indicated above. Each course includes training in the following subjects: Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology (body systems), ICD-10 CM, CPT, HCPCS, Medical Billing, including all third-party payers and Compliance policies | regulations. The June 2019 MBC Courses will be held at KHS Event Center, located at 4803 Main Street, Suite C, Houston, Texas 77004, in the Midtown / Museum District area (approximately 4 blocks south of the former Sears Department Store and 3 blocks south of the Metro - Wheeler Station Transit Center).
About the Instructor(s):
The course will be taught by Debra H. Swisher, CPC. Debra Swisher’s teaching experience includes over 30 years of medical coding and billing instruction; which includes administration of seminars and conducting conferences for physicians, nurses, healthcare workers as well as lay participants, on local, state and national levels, in all fields of medicine! As necessity dictates, additional adjunct instructors and their perspective titles, along with their fields of expertise, are to be announced and introduced on day one of this course.
Cost of the Course:
The total cost of the course is only $1,200.00. The tuition may be paid in one lump sum payment or in two, three or four installments.
Please Note:
Three (3) or more installment payments will be assessed a
ONE-TIME processing fee of $50.00.
Payment Plan A) -Two (2) installments: the total cost is $600.00 per both installments in Payment Plan A.
Payment Plan B) -Three (3) installments: An initial registration fee of $50.00, added to the initial installment of $400.00, for a total initial payment of $450.00, followed by 2 payments of $400.00 each, per installment in Payment Plan B.
Payment Plan C) Four (4) installments: An initial registration fee of $50.00, added to the initial installment of $300.00, for a total initial payment of $350.00, followed by 3 payments of $300.00 each, per installment in Payment Plan C.

2) 2nd payment being due approximately 30 days after class has begun (on or near July 22, 2019),
3) 3rd payment being rendered by 60 calendar days into the course (on or near August 19,, 2019).
4) 4th payment being rendered by 90 calendar days into the course (on or near September 16, 2019).
All payments made after the initial payment will be due and payable within five (5) -ten (10) days of the scheduled due date. Failure to meet this deadline may result in assessment of a late fee of $30.00, per overdue payment:

Registration for the course begins on Monday, May 06, 2019 and continues through Friday, June 7, 2019, or until all classes are full, whichever comes first. Applicants are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Refund / Cancellation Policy:
1) No fee assessed for cancellations, with written notification, up to ten (10) business days prior to the beginning of class.
2) A 25% fee is assessed for any cancellation occurring within five (5) business days or less, prior to the commencement date of the course.
3) A 50% fee is assessed for any cancellation occurring within three (3) business days of the beginning of the course.
4) No refund(s) will be issued due to cancellation, once the first day of class has begun.
5) No-shows will NOT be refunded any money. You may reschedule for another DHS - MBC Course, only if one is presently scheduled or is planned for future dates, for this or any other alternate location, as noted.

Additional Notes
No entrance exam or other specific requirement is essential prior to registration and participation in the MBC course. This course welcomes but is NOT limited to any / all Texas Medical Center employees, anyone presently in the healthcare field, as well as those embarking upon this field for the very first time!
All interested groups / individuals are welcome!!
Upon completion of the course, each participant will receive a Certificate of Completion, one which is recognized and honored by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), as well as countless employers in the medical field, such as; physician’s offices, hospitals, insurance companies, government agencies and group/private medical facilities/practices, including home healthcare agencies!
