For those in or around the Houston area, there will be a candlelight vigil this Friday in the gym to honor Evelyn and her family. đź’” Thank you Melissa Moss for the link.

The Houston area will gather for a special service at Hiett Gymnasium at 6 Friday night to provide support for the family of a 9-year-old girl whose life ended tragically Monday morning in a Nashvi…

Hey Class of 99 ... Re-Posting message from Jeremy Dillon to make sure everyone sees this info regarding our class reunion float trip, because there are only a limited amount of rafts, canoes and kayaks available:

Alright everybody, here is the details for the float trip. We will be floating from Boiling Springs Resort to Mason Bridge. That is a 6 mile float. It would be roughly a 6 to 8 hour float depending how often we stop. As of right now Boiling Springs Resort has 9 Six man rafts and 5 four man rafts. The 6 man rafts ar $125 a piece and the 4 man rafts are $85. All canoes are $45 a piece and kayaks are $28. If you would like to reserve any of these for yourself the number is (573) 674-3488. Just tell them you are reserving for the Houston class of 1999. Michael Tottingham is the contact name. You are also welcome to bring your own stuff if you would like. I hope everybody can make it! If you have any questions, please pm myself or Michael.

We have three options for the 15 year class reunion float on August 30th, 2014. OPTION ONE is floating from Alley Springs to Eminence on the Jacks Fork River. This float is around 45 minutes away but has the most gravel bars for stopping and is the best choice for rafts. Rafts are basically indestructible river tanks making them great for big groups because they are enjoyable for all skill levels. On the Jacks Fork rafts typically rent for $100 and comfortably seat 4-6 individuals depending on the size of the occupants. Logistically renting is the only way to go on this trip however, you are more than welcome to make your own arrangements. OPTION TWO is floating from Cedargrove to Akers Ferry on the Current River. This is one of my favorite floats and is much easier to bring our own boats or rent canoes ($46), Kayaks ($25), or 4-person rafts ($100). OPTION THREE keeps us closer to our Houston roots and has us floating from Boiling Springs to Mason Bridge on the Big Piney River. This is an easy float and the best option for taking personal boats. Canoes ($45), kayaks ($28), and rafts ($125) are available for rent from Boiling Springs Resort. If we select one of the last two choices the we will need to know everyone that has a boat, needs a boat, or intends to rent. No matter what we end up doing we will meet somewhere in Houston and travel as a group to the starting point. We would appreciate anyone with a van or large SUV to help with transportation. We will try and find designated drivers for those of us that intend on drinking. Please personal message Jeremy Dillon or Michael Tottingham with your contact information and preference. There are a limited number of rafts available and they go quickly so we will need to make reservations well in advance so please don't delay.

Just wanted to officially post this to the page so it isn't "hidden" on the side bar ...

All who want to float on Saturday 8-30-14 can contact Jeremy Dillon or myself for details. We were thinking Cedar to Akers on the Current river would be a nice float. I have room for 13 participants and need to know anyone else with canoes... and/or canoe trailers. More will follow when we start to know how many are interested.
